Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by Divine Grace to repent and believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior on the profession of our faith, as evidenced by our baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with each other.

By Divine aid, we will walk together in Christian love, pursuing the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, seeking reconciliation to conflict with a heart willing to forgive or to ask for forgiveness, using our words to build up and not tear down the body.

We will bear one another’s burdens and sorrows through comfort and encouragement and rejoice at each other’s happiness. We will commit to pray for each other and to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together in order to stir each other up to love and righteous living.

We will fulfill the mission that Jesus called the church to fulfill, working together for the continuance of faithful Gospel ministry in this body, as we maintain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrine. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to support the ministry and expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through out all the nations.

We will endeavor to bring up any who may be under our care, in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and by a pure and loving example to seek the salvation of the lost.

By Divine aid, we will seek to live our lives in holiness, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts and to walk in newness of life, since we have been made new creations by the grace of God.

We will, when we remove from this place, as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
